Quinoa Cranberry Bowl + How to create a nutritious meal?

How to create a nutritious meal?

I like to think simplicity & experimenting when teaching a client how to create a nutritious plate. Why simplicity and experimenting?

Here is why- - when creating a meal that will add value to your health, we don’t need to be fancy, all we need is the basic, staying simple and going through that trial and error phase of learning what works for you and what doesn’t.

Think Simplicity in 3 steps:

Step 1: Starting with the basic: 1 carb, 1 protein, 1 veggie

Step 2: Choosing one type of oil to cook: olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil

Step 3: Choosing one method of cooking baking, crockpot, or grilling

Once we chosen a plate that represents the above- simplicity.

We move on to experimenting. Experimenting what you like and what you don’t like. This will give you a clear and concise way of breaking things down even more to help create sustainability and avoid stressing out.

Think Experimenting in 3 steps:

Step 1: Play around with meals to help you figure out what you love and don’t like. Ex. What veggies you enjoy and what veggies you prefer to add occasionally

Step 2: Play around with different methods of cooking you enjoy best, whether its baking, sautéing, crockpot, or grilling. Try them all and keep your favorite or favorites

Step 3: Play around with different spices like paprika, turmeric, thyme, ginger, oregano and decided which flavors are your favorite and make them your signature seasoning staples

Once you have mastered these two key components, simplicity and experimenting and the three major steps in simplicity and experimenting phase of building a nutritious meal.

Then, you can move forward being more adventurous in adding more ingredients to your plate, not just 1 carb, 1 protein, 1 veggie, but perhaps in doubles of triples.

Hope these tips help you build a nutritious meal!

If you are ready to be empowered and are willing to ask for help to create a healthier relationship with food, learn to make important and healthier decisions, become a badass in the kitchen and honor your body. I would love to work with you to help you thrive in health.
