Homemade energy ball recipe + effects of honey on overall health & exercise.

Check out recipe on the blog :) This “Chocolate Raspberry Protein Energy Balls” snack recipe is easy to make, packed with nutrient value ingredients & its all homemade. The beauty of homemade cooking/ foods is that you are in control of what goes into your recipe and how much goes into your recipe. For instance, this recipe I’ve manipulated the amount of carbs, protein & fats I’d like to have per ball, but most importantly I’ve manipulated what ingredients I’d like to have in it. Fun fact: I chose honey as one of my ingredients because honey has been proven to have positive effects on overall health and exercise performance. Two studies found that honey ingestion improved endurance performance.

Other studies have reported that a combination of honey & exercise together showed improvements in:

  • bone health stress levels

  • reproductive hormones white blood cells

  • neutrophils (defenses against pathogens ) (Yusuf et al., 2018)
